Five Easy Looks for the Summer

From the wardrobe of a casual fashion enthusiast

It’s summertime! The air is crisp, the sun casts a warm glow over the cityscape – wait, this is India we are talking about. Summer here is more like blazing heat, scorching winds and a sun so bright we spend most of our time hiding from it indoors, am I right? Still, I personally love summer looks as there are so many options to choose from. So when I head out in the summers I try to pick outfits that will keep me cool and are trendy at the same time. I’ve compiled a list of the easiest summer outfits from my wardrobe that you could try out to beat the heat and look fresh while doing it.

Sundress

This is my go-to if the weather is uncomfortably hot. A light, airy sundress made of soft, breathable fabric will help your body breathe and stay as cool as possible. Throw on a pair of light sandals and you’re good to go!

Bodysuit + Joggers + Denim booties

Less simplistic than a sundress but still easy to wear in the summer, this ensemble is quite easy to get right. All you need is a sleeveless, preferably strappy bodysuit, paired with slightly oversize joggers (these will give you a more curvy profile if you have a more petite build like me) tucked into denim booties.

Bralette + Jeans + White Sneakers

While I generally steer clear of denim in the summers, there are a couple of times when it can work. When paired with a light bralette and comfortable white sneakers, jeans can be pretty tolerable. Jeans with a high ruffle waist will fit into this look very nicely.

Dungarees + Crop top + Sneakers

I must confess that full-length denim dungarees can be a bit of a strain in the peak of summer, but if temperatures are below 34 degrees I find them to be perfectly tolerable. I chose dungarees as a part of this list of outfits because they are a single piece with a lot of fun personality. You can pair them with a crop top or a baggy t-shirt, depending on your mood, along with a pair of fun sneakers. This ensemble requires very little effort to look trendy and summer-ready.

T-shirt + Shorts

The good old t-shirt and shorts – a classic summer go-to. This will not only keep you cool, but also has a lot of potential for styling as well. You could go with an oversize t-shirt and do Tan France from Queer Eye’s famous ‘French Tuck’, you could explore fun graphic t-shirts – the possibilities are endless! A simple t-shirt paired with shorts could be a great way to express your personality with style.

And there you have it – five looks that require very little effort and will keep you cool in the summers. If you choose to take a leaf out of my look book, make sure to tag me when you upload it on Instagram! I’ll be sure to share my favourite looks from you.
